Meeting:   Col. Allen R. Witt Camp #615 meets the fourth Monday of each month, except for December when we have our Christmas party, at 7 pm at the Faulkner County Library at 1900 Tyler Street in Conway.  Coming from Little Rock on I-40 take the first Conway exit (Dave Ward Dr. or Hwy. 60) and go West on Dave Ward Dr. to Donaghey Avenue (there is a traffic light there and a large UCA sign at the nwest corner) turn right (north) onto Donaghey Avenue and follow Donaghey to the railroad and turn right just after crossing railroad onto Tyler St., Library is about two blocks East from Donaghey intersection on the left.  The meeting is in one of the rooms on the West end of Library.

Members of the Witt Camp in Conway recently took the initiative in obtaining a proclamation from the Faulkner County Judge deeming April as Confederate Heritage and History Month.  The Witt Camp has been known in past years in taking the initiative in getting a proclamation.

Attached is a photo of Camp members at the above meeting and the 1st National flag that Camp member Ron Burton’s wife made for the Camp. We are very grateful to Mrs. Burton for the flag. It shows her excellant sewing ability. The Camp is very proud of the flag. Also, thanks to Ron for all is research on the flag. We are very grateful to them.

Roger Mills

The Col. Allen R. Witt Camp #615 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans in Conway will conduct a memorial service for Col. A. R. Witt, Cmdr. of the 10th Arkansas Inf. during the War of Northern Aggression, at 2 pm this Saturday at Oak Grove Cemetery at the SW corner of the Airport in Conway.

You are invited to attend this memorial service, which is open to the public.

There will be a three volley rifle salute as well as a one cannon salute. Mr. Roger Harvell is bringing his small scale, 2 1/4″ bore for which we are very appreciative.
